About this tool

Every "how many realtors are there" article quotes NAR membership, which counts association members, not working agents. Realty Census counts agents with a published profile on a brokerage website, on a fixed date, by state, city and brokerage. The September 12, 2026 count is 493,140 agents across 21 brands, with a page for every state and DC, 1,047 cities and 705 brokerages, plus brand comparisons and a commission split calculator. Aggregates only: no individual agent data. Free, no signup, no ads.
